We are in need of Merit Badge Counselors. As of January 1, all prior Merit Badge Counselor Applications are no longer valid. If you have not submitted a Merit BadgeCounselor Information Form in the new August 2011 format, you are not recognized as a Merit Badge Counselor by the Palmetto Council. So far, I have received the new application forms from Chase Foster, Bill Ruddy, Jeff Valerio, Dave Hudson, Pete Schmitt, and Keith Brann. We have counselors for American Business, American Cultures, American Labor, Backpacking, Camping, Canoeing/Kayaking, Chemistry, Chess, Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Climbing, Coin Collecting, Disability Awareness, Entrepreneurship, Environmental Science, Fingerprinting, First Aid, Forestry, Graphic Arts, Golf, Hiking, Law, Lifesaving, Motorboating, Orienteering, Personal Fitness, Reading, Salesmanship, Scholarship, Scuba, Small boat Sailing, Snow Sports, Sports, Swimming, Watersports, and Wilderness Survival. That’s only 37 out of 210 Badges. We are in particular need of counselors to cover the remaining Eagle Required Badges: Communications, Cycling, Emergency Preparedness, Family Life, and Personal Management. I have attached the form. If you are interested in being a Merit Badge Counselor, please fill out the form and bring it to the meeting tomorrow night. I need to get these forms submitted to the council.
