Troop,
Monday April 16th is election night for the Order of the Arrow.
This year we have 15 eligible Scouts. To learn more about the Membership Requirements and the Induction Process, please refer to this page.
We must have over 50% of the youth members present at the meeting to hold the election. Plan on being there Monday, April 16th at the meeting to vote, no absentee ballot allowed!
The Order of the Arrow (OA) is Scouting’s National Honor Society. Its purpose is to:
- Recognize those who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives and through that recognition cause others to conduct themselves in a way that warrants similar recognition.
- Promote camping, responsible outdoor adventure, and environmental stewardship as essential components of every Scout’s experience, in the unit, year-round, and in summer camp.
- Develop leaders with the willingness, character, spirit and ability to advance the activities of their units, our Brotherhood, Scouting, and ultimately our nation.
- Crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others.
The results of the election will remain secret until the OA tap out ceremony at summer camp (Friday night during the closing camp fire.) It is Troop 250’s policy not disclose to Scouts, Leaders, and Parents, any information on that topic before the ceremony.
