Scouts,
On Saturday, January 28th from 9:00 – 12:00, T250 is having ILST training at Grace. What is ILST? Good question. ILST is Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops. ILST is the replacement for TLT (Troop Leadership Training). Mr. Reiter will be running the course with SPL Adam Patyk and Scoutmaster Robert Mercer assisting. Here’s a brief synopsis of ILST:
Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST)
The purpose of the ILST course is to teach Scouts with leadership positions about their new roles and how to most effectively reach success in that role. It is intended to help Boy Scouts in leadership positions within their troop understand their responsibilities and to equip them with organizational and leadership skills to fulfill those responsibilities. ILST is the first course in the series of leadership training offered to Boy Scouts and is a replacement for Troop Leadership Training. Completion of ILST is a prerequisite for Boy Scouts to participate in the more advanced leadership courses National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) and the National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE).
ILST is open to all T250 Scouts, regardless of rank or age. Email me back to let me know if you’re interested in attending. Also, even if a Scout has completed TLT, I encourage you to take ILST. The class will be fun while further developing the Scout’s leadership skills.
